Robot designs

You've seen the inspiration here is its gradual outcomes...

getting there

Drawing

Here is the basic outline of the story;

Page one

Page two

Basic Story Line

This is the basic story line of the story and its events.

Drunken Robot
1. Human-ish looking robot at a bar.
2. Drunk as hell (head hanging down). Empty glass in front of him.
3. Stands up and staggers out of Bar (Re-FUEL)
4. He has no control over his limbs and links
5. They lengthen and shorten as he tries to walk.
6. Trying to gain composure he leans against a lamp post
7. His arm suddenly shoots up and twists around it.
8. Looks up at twisted hand, before suddenly shortening the shoulder to elbow link.
9. This sends his body to follow, now twisted around the lamp post.
10. Confused, he untwists himself
11. sending him into a twirl
12. facing back towards the bar
13. walks forward and back to where he started.

Simple!
Here is the robot from I robot, its a good little reference to its human element. Althought mine looks more like a cartoony robot. Will upload soon as I'm happy with a final drawn versio.

1st Robot Mix Match

Here is an environment scene, so you can get the jist of the area and mood of my animation. Its got drawn bits pieces from pictures and films (Batman of course) anyway I cant decide wether i want it colourful like a feel of las vegas or more dark and corrupt like a inner city. Once i've played around some more will tell you my verdict. I'm going for a sincity theme, with sound effects of a corrupt city, like the classic New York City sound. Sirens, gun shots, shouting.

Orrery

I'm in the middle of rendering it but here is a few screen shots of the final thing. very colourful! I'll be honest i'm quite proud of it, have it all moving fine in the 10second animation, all the little moons and everything. Never realised how good the array and link tool is. Makes life so much easier anyway once rendered and figured out how to successfully save, will upload.

My Robot and his City

Ref: http://relzlife.blogspot.com/2009/11/gotham-city_23.html
and http://www.kheendesign.com/blog/15/

two images that are probably going to be the main influence over my urban landscape. I'm using Gotham city as it fits the theme of drunks and delinquents. Gotham is a metropolis full of crime, robberies, murder and corruption. Also had a little look at Sin City too, this image just fits the dark mood of it all.Ref: http://www.templates.com/blog/amazing-movie-paintings-from-five-professional-artists/

Its chaos will reflect upon the robot, it aslo helps ease a back story onto the robot too. In a city like that its easy to be drunk. My next post i will go into describing the robot and its no control over its elongating and shrinking body parts.

Here are Bits of inspiration to my Robot ideas:
Like Charlie Chaplin The Drunken Tramp

All good bits of inspiration come from a tiny spark, like seeing a stranger walk head first into a lamp post!

1st Million

Finally i have just about compeleted my first piece of materialised object!! My surgery with Andy today really helped, its all clicked into place. There is no better way of teaching then by someone that really is able to engage your attention, (as i admit i struggle with focus). But Andy's way of teaching really appeals, another bit to add why i want to learn 3d. Anyway here is my 1st £10,000 wad of cash! if only it was real, anyway i'm still putting on the label as we speak but i was just so excited i thought i would put it up now! still more to be done to make it more realistic like flaring it out a litlle and needs a hell of a lot more to make the millions!i would share so here it is!!

So here are some posters I did last night for a type of Jackass show thats going to happen end of this month. Went for 3 different designs. I think i did pretty well, made them all in about 3/4hrs thats from getting the, getting all the info I could about it (was like trying to get water out of a stone) and sending them off. Ultimately they have gone for all of them, as he knew he could use each of them in different areas (Glad I did so well he couldnt really choose). Each poster is done on photoshop, with one image and bold text. The use of red is used throughout as I think the colour signies the pain in the show.

So here is number one:

The design:

This one is the favourite out of the four, "Its more us" quoted! I love the screaming mouth it fits for both the bands and the show its self, even its not screaming its open wide like in shock (yet again fits the style of the show) This was my 1st idea, with me i forget to research and jump straight in to the 1st design and figure out the issues afterwards. I one of them work on spur of the moment! Yet I still like this one and it is the favourite and the logo for the show I've been told, or something like that not quite sure. Theres the red again too just to show the blood and pain!

Poster 2

Poster 2 design:

I really liked this one, it subtle yet this gives you the buzzing antipation for the show. I made the headlining text bigger and slanted so as not to get lost within the rest of it, yet even the rest of the text has varying sizes for important words, such as Early and Carnage. I also really like the subtle bits of red throughout, from the mans tie to it splashed across the white clear letters. This was really the last poster I sent and we were torn between the 1st poster design and this one.
Dont you think its just the perfect pose?!!!

Poster 3

Poster 3 design:
I really wanted to incoporate a screaming face, as I have been in the show before and some of the stunts they're just painful. I love the bolt blue of this picture, yet overall I'm not a great fan of this picture, I think its too unclear, yet take away the red carnage text in the background and it becomes dull and lifeless. If I had some more time I think I'd play around with it some more.

Poster 4

Here is poster number 4:
This is just an alternate to the one above as i felt the images had been very dark. I think I would make the blue background text lighter as u lose the words a little. Infact i maight make it a black and white poster, a negative, yet keep the red carnage text in the background.

just to add..

As mine and Andrews last film project was quite a success, and I havent really heard back from the group about the last film we did. We have decided to do a project together another film based upon the script "Tickets" Andrew was disappointed with the film he did with the last project it sounded rushed and watching it we discussed and critisied the things that we would change, like location to a quiter area, maybe less speaking, camera angles etc.
Anyway so I just thought it was lovely that he came back to me again and asked if I would direct his film. Fantastic, must have some talent then.
Ok I'm done applauding myself now, just thought I'd share

Virtual Environment

So I have had my first seminar on 3d max, and i love it I think the moment I get my head round the tools and begin to understand and be more fluid with it. It'll be awesome, such a good programme I cant wait to get good, I think I have found my creative spark again YAY!!!
Originally I was going to do the classic Batcave but its already been done, I'll basically be copying as I dont like change and I think the Batcave is perfect the way it is. No instead I think I'll do his arch Villian the JOKER! I do love the joker very much he is like batman's other half. But I'm going to have a good think about it and get back to you, with some sketches and idea's i have for it!
I think I know which pathway I would like to choose, 3D is just such a good programme, its like the 1st time I ever used flash or photoshop.
Exciting!

The Batcomputer

The Batcave, Main Floor

Finished

Hey been a while since i've been on my blog just because i have been busy as hell living and sorting out a trip to london. Recently I have been feeling very uncreative, almost avoiding working with anything creative for weeks now, but I've decided that creativity wont come back to me just lazing around. Soooo.. Now the decision is to engross myself fully in this new project as we have now completed the film (it was ok, not the best lots of improvements might be needed) I will come back to that bit. I have a new project and its finally the project I'm most excited about, the 3D max, virtual environments!!
I have been waiting all year for this project and the first lesson i was so ill it was ridiculous, but I have been reading the tutorials online and lecture notes on NOW. I think I need to get the programme though as just watching means nothing without doing it, so I'm looking forward to today. I am a bit worried I wont grasp it, I can see the similarities it has to photoshop like the layout and basic key functions. So i'm hoping that my basic knowledge will help me keep up with the rest. Another large plus factor is the Brief, which is to create a superheroes lair! MASSIVE batman fan here, so i have books and encyclopedia on it, plus a huge spread describing each and every floor of the Batcave. I most excited to make Batmans computer and his Baddies museum.
Just hope i crack the programme as then I will hopefully get my excitement back!
Will be better on the updates now x

Poor Adhesion Site

So I've now scanned in the basic drawings into photoshop and actually made them clearer and visable, i scribble a lot!! They're not bad for rough sketches, scene1 ext. Street day, is a CU of Max's feet at a low tilted angle, it goes in slow motion as we follow him. It then cuts to the next scene, ext. coffee shop day, MS where we see a couple at a table, we dont quite see Max's face as he walks past and knocks over the couples glass. It then cuts back to the CU of Max's feet walking. I'm just in the middle of the Balloon scene now.

Batquiz Unfinished

well so far so good on the quiz front, although not sure how to finish it. I was looking at other peoples and I've realised my seems a little more complicated, not to play but actually making!
I'm also using Flash pro8 so its like learning a completely new action script. To be honest though I dont mind, I'm impressed I can do it, its like having mini victories. It has small animations plenty of sound effects and the end credits are animated like a bat signal flashlight across the page, and even a save option. I'm just trying to figure out what my ending should be, I want it worth it as the prize for getting the other questions right are good. So its taking a while for me to find some final inspiration.
But above is the opening page to my quiz, made from scratch, think I did pretty well.
I'll put the finished product up sometime this week when I've completed my ending.

Who wants to be a Millionaire...

So we're now onto a new term with new projects, and this is our one. Its based upon a quiz like "Who wants to be a Millionaire". Using a similar technique to who wants to be a Millionaire I'm creating a quiz either on Batman, or the Justice League, not sure which yet. By doing the Batman one (which is where my knowledge mostly lies) it will be quicker and simpler. Although by doing the Justice League one, i can explore more backgrounds, add more themes, make it more complicated!
I dont know, I'm in the process of perfecting the Batman quiz page. I will be hopefully adding sound bites like the joker laugh and sections of film in there to. Just to make it more interesting. There is only one quiz out there that is remotely like the one I'll be creating. All the others are straight forward questions and quite boring. but this one actually has graphics, I like the buttons and teh noises. It also has a small animation at the end while determining your personality. (I was Batman) here is the link

maybe try plaing it:

Final Interactive Narrative Piece

Finally uploading my interactive narrative piece sorry its taken me ages to upload!! Actionscript and buttons are difficult, I spent ages trying to understand thema nd realised that you just have to do it, not think about it. It's just too confusing. I want to say a massive tahnk you to Sam who is in her 2nd year. I really appreciated all the help and tiem you gave, patience of a saint!! Thank you.
This is it the finally piece linked back to my DeviantArt page. Very simple, like a childrens story with a moral, like a fable
Hope you like.

One Shot Film - Morgan Spice

YAY i found the One shot film me and andrew made, finally all work in one place, thank goodness!!! I know its a little long and there are a few areas i would change but Andrew did an awesome job of editing it and acting! Thank you Andrew appreciate your hardwork and input
Well this is the One shot film, I'm proud of the idea and if I had more time I'd perfect it the way I planned it in my head.

I do love that drink Morgan's Spice

Pixelation

This is the 360 images, done in flash then converted on Moyea software. I took inspiration from Dimension's of Dialogue by Jan Svankmajer. I used the basic colour to signfy the sexes. Very simple short stop frame animation. Think I might add music at some point.

Emma's Christmas Present

Well here is the animation i made over christmas for my girlfriend, the song is quite long and the animation is short because i wanted to be able to add to it as time went on. ok well here it is, all done on flash

She liked it alot, actually got tears :)
right now i'll upload my pixelation 360 images for you.
thanks for watching

Long time no speak

Its been a very long while since I've written or shown any work on here, not for lack of trying may I add. This is the 1st moment I've had some me time and internet!! Over the christmas Holidays I created an animation for my girlfriend, it was part of the homemade gidt for her. Just a short summary of our time together so far, lots of photos and memories. currently trying to load it up onto facebook.
Since I've come back though I've started a few drawing relating back to the project "War for your Mind"
while researching, and listening to my girlfriends ideas, she showed me this image and it really hit me. Can not get the image out of my head, once my computer work improves I plan to be able to create this as an animation, maybe even 3D
heres the image, I'll get back to you on the Artist.
Will get the animation up onto my blog as soon as possible
